Acute myocardial ainfarction in patients with recent negative stress test.

Abstract

We present nine patients with mean age 57 years, (range 45-65 years) who were hospitalized in the Coronary Care Unit of our Department for acute myocardial infarction. All of them had in the previous month, preceding the acute event, a maximal exercise test according to the Bruce Protocol which was negative. All patients survived the acute event with the exception of one patient who suffered cardiac arrest out of hospital. Smoking and hypertension where the predominant risk factors identified. Single vessel disease most frequently involving the right coronary artery were the predominant angiographic freatures. Ejection fraction was within normal limits. Hippokratia 1998, 2(2):87-90
